The poem “Success is counted sweetness” explains all by appointing the reality that success sometimes requires a sacrifice. Emily Dickenson knew how do so by mentioning “To comprehend the nectar… Requires sorest need” (Dickenson 1) these two verses represent the “nectar” as success and the “sorest need” as the decision that should be made to get it. Also, another verse that can be that say “As he defeated –dying” (Dickenson 1) interpreted a good example of a soldier that has defeated his enemy yet the consequences were negative as in death. Clearly the poem gives a connection with the reader by giving him/her the feeling of success with a
