The education offered in New Mexico is to some extent impractical and very limited to many of the residents. In return, the lack of education leads to a grim domino effect ending in a tragic crash of poverty. Nott also adds that, “New Mexico is ranked 49th in the nation for educational standings and New Mexico has received a D on its annual state report card”. The documentary “First Year “displays the first year of professional life of five teachers and their approaches while dealing with children disruptive to others. But in reality they are only disadvantaged children. Reflection About Classroom Teaching Experience Being an educator is a challenge and a new learning experience each time. As an educator, I am entrusted with the responsibility of shaping the way students think and feel in the classroom. I have always wanted to be an educator and share my experiences with the new generation of nurses. When I was assigned to work with professor Lynette Rayman to do my classroom teaching experience, I was thrilled because the topic I chose was chronic kidney disease which also happens to be my area of expertise. My philosophy of education in a nutshell is that every child deserves to have a great education regardless of any circumstances. I have come to this conclusion about teaching since my first teaching experience when I was twenty as a camp counselor. It was a camp for junior high school students and I got to teach them in groups and one on one with each student. I was in locum parentis for one week with each group of junior high school students. I took the students to each meal of the day and guided them through activities as well as teaching and overall caretaking of the students.…

What I’ve learned about being a teacher that I didn’t realize before this experience was that being a teacher is exhausting and that a teacher’s job never ends. At the beginning of the semester, I wasn’t that tired. I would just go and help out in the classroom. As I gradually began to talk over, the more exhausted I became. I had to write lesson plans for my units on top of my own personal school work.…
