Valuable Life Lessons Learned In School

Being placed at East Swain Elementary and given the opportunity to observe the teacher and the students.Have truly taught me some valuable life lessons when writing the first reflection I touched on this some but not a whole lot.The main thing that I have learned is how to get the students attention I know for myself growing up in school I had a tendency to drift off and ignore what was going on because I didn't find it interesting.Well when watching Mr.Dunford who is my host teacher he teacher fifth grade math he put this in a new light for me while teaching about fractions he gives the overview of the lesson and than gives the students the chance to come up with a cool name to call it. This is seven different characteristics that make a strong person when the students do well they are rewarded but not every student is the same way some have to have reinforcement so they are sent to the office. Over all he said we are pretty good about staying on top of the way the student communicate with one another though we may not alway see and know what is going on we are there to protect and we try our very best. To me this was very important because they are listening and making sure that each student knows that they have somewhere to go. At my school we had a code word when you needed to talk about a problem you would write it down the code word and give it to the teacher so that they knew you needed to talk so you would stay inside from recess or specials to talk about this
