The rediscovery of child abuse is about finding ways to prevent and educate people and expose severe beatings or maltreatment. It can include the promotion of a positive behavior or action through activities. Through government agencies that can offer supportive services, protection, and treatment. Rediscovery of child abuse is very important because these children deserve better than they are getting and we are to depend on these children to run the world when the time comes.
In the video, the child was abused but lied at first when the officer asked. The officer explained he tries to gain victims trust, especially children. He walked the child victim through what was going to be happening. The officer wanted to show the child that she could trust the police because they were there to help out. Asking what happened several different times did get the child to admit her mother had hit her and not that she had hit the table.
Pictures were taken of the victim, suspect/victim mom, and suspect dad. Whole body pictures and then photos of any injuries with and without a scale were taken. The scale shows variations of discoloration and can also help with showing what size the injury might have been.
