One day I went into Walmart by my house at night to pick up some groceries for my family who just came into town. There was hardly anyone there because it’s kind of late. After I gather all of my things I needed I met back up with my family in the front. We stood in the check out. When you are locked in some way, your mind wonders and it wonders about things you could be doing if you weren’t locked in. It feels like a trap. I feel that Jane and Cinderella both felt like they needed to overcome their struggles. They both wanted to find freedom and happiness. And that was the significance of the red room. The red room not only appeared once, but multiple times in the story. She makes a connection between her current situation and the first time of being teased.
There were three male figures in her life and I felt like they were keeping her trapped in like the Red Room and not letting her express herself. All of her life she needed to find her independence and freedom, she tried when she got away from her aunt. But when she came to the school it was like the same thing, but not as bad.
