The light was glistening as how my mood represented. I had sprung up like a spring. My brother was still somehow asleep, although I don't know how through this exciting occasion. I couldn't go back to sleep as if I had just drank a bunch of coffee and was wired from then on out. The same effect was left with my brother when I woke him up too. The drool that was on his cheek had showed that he had a pretty good sleep. He was wearing a blue, Kris Bryant baseball t-shirt, that was a little longer than it should have been. He had long bulls pants on that was red and had little Chicago Bulls logos throughout the whole pants. His brown Justin Bieber haircut showed that he needed a haircut. The silver braces on the top part of his teeth from yelling …show more content…
The angel at the top of our Christmas tree glistened as the tree was lit up. The lights were as if they were giving the tree a hug because of how it was wrapped. The presents were all different sizes, they were all different colors too. There were striped, zig zag, blue, green, and red. The longer I had looked at the presents I had gotten more and more anxious to open them and see what was inside. As excited as I was to open my own presents, I was really excited to how my family would react to the gifts that I got them. My mom has a charm bracelet where you can put charms of your choice on them. I got her two charms that I thought she was going to like very much. I got her a white soccer ball with black stitching charm because that was and still is her favorite sport. The other charm that I got her was a mini white baseball with red stitching because me and my brother play baseball and that is our favorite sports. For my dad, I got him a custom Chicago cubs mug. It was all blue, although on the outside of the mug was Kris Bryant from the Chicago Cubs. Right next to Kris Bryant it was his name inked with red writing. I got that for my dad because he is a big coffee drinker and his favorite sport is baseball just like me and my brothers. Also his favorite baseball team from the MLB is the Chicago Cubs. His favorite player is Kris Bryant, which is why I got him the blue Chicago Cubs, …show more content…
Ripping open my red and green colored wrapping papered box to just find another box that kept making me more and more anxious. I had felt like I was opening this box to a million dollars because of how excited I was. My cheeks were red from how much I was blushing. My mom and dad´s smiles rising because of them knowing what I had already gotten and knew I was going to be excited. I felt like the happiest man on the moon to find my six flags season passes. Never wanting this feeling to end brought sadness because I knew it eventually would. I had felt like the light that was running my life had darkened because of Christmas being

The House on Mango Street is a series of vignettes by Sandra Cisneros that records stories of Esperanza’s life on Mango Street in a chronological order. As she experiences things on Mango Street and matures emotionally and sexually, the vignettes transitioned from innocent childlike observations of the world to sharper reasoning of the cultural and social changes that’s happening in the Mango Street community. Sexuality and freedom are prominent themes throughout the novel. Withe use of symbols such as flying, shoes, and femme fatales, Esperanza’s struggle between her budding sexuality and her desire for freedom is revealed. On the first few chapters, it is clear that Esperanza’s goal is to escape Mango Street and live in a house of her own after seeing the trapped women around the neighborhood.…

Bronte uses a wide variety of language features in order to create a suspenseful and tense scene. Firstly, the very name of this dreaded 'red room' sounds dark and evil in itself. Images of blood, haunted houses and ghosts instantly flood my mind when I think of it. After researching the physiological implications of the colour red, I found some important attributes include: strength, basic survival, aggression and strain[1]. This could suggest that there had been a struggle before Mr Reed's death that took place in that room, perhaps a physical fight and a bloody death.…

Growing up I had to face a reality that most young children do not. My mother was a drug addict and her drug of choice was heroin. I was aware of her addiction from an early age; events that were commonplace in my home, I look back now as an adult and realize how wrong they were. For instance, it was made out to be a game to sort the seeds out of her marijuana. I remember being very young, possibly five or six and describing what was needed and how to shoot up heroin to my grandparents.…

I would be flying down with my friend from work and we would go our separate ways once we arrived down in Florida. I could not wait for that day to come; it was exactly one month from Christmas Day. I found Clare Cooper Marcus’s article “The house as symbol of self” to be very interesting. While I agree with many points this article makes, I disagree with a few points that are made as well. I agree that most people have experienced moving into a new house in their lifetime. For some people it is a great experience and for others it is torture. At first the new house may seem strange and even unwelcoming.…

The best chapter of any chapter in the House on Mango street is Papa Who Wakes Up Tired in the Dark. It is the perfect blend of nearly every single literary device and it shows insight into life itself. It gives us the feeling we all had as we had to be the so called parent in the situation not knowing what to do not knoing what to say. The chapter not only gives us that but it masks the true meaning of the chapter in symbolism of what our parents do for us and what we all know what will happen eventually.…
