Space Exploration
Why are people upset about NASA and their space exploration program? I am going to write about the reasons behind many people oppose space exploration and why many people encourage space exploration. This topic is of interest to me because as a people who wanted to explore space and believes that space exploration is important, it is an issue that needs to be addressed and needs to be funded again. This topic will be interesting to my readers because there are still so many things to be explored and so many things to be learned from space and all it has to offer. My issue with this topic is that recently, the government has stopped funding NASA and their space exploring program, I also want to know why people believe that

Debate.org conducted a poll asking if space exploration is worth the money. There were many mixed answers, out of the population who answered, 44% of who answered, answered no, 56% of them answered yes. Someone said, “As the bible says, our purpose of living on Earth is to lead a holy life in order to be accepted in heaven.” Others still believe that no man has ever stepped foot on the moon. While there are many people saying that this is a waste of money, others disagree. One stated, “The Apollo missions inspired an entire generation of students to pursue math and science careers. Imagine how much the human race would be inspired by other space missions. So many people would be inspired for just six-tenths of a percent of the federal budget.” Lauren Farrar explained that because of our nature to ask questions and wonder, we want to know what is out there. She states that, “At one time or another, everyone has looked to the stars and wondered what’s really out there,” (KQEDLearning.) She also explain how we can colonize other planets by exploring space. “Earth-like planets and moons could also be very valuable in that they could contain many of our most coveted resources that are scarce on …show more content…
Many believe that all the money spent funding space exploration will be worth it at the end, also many others believe that all the money we are spending could have gone to something else, like schools, medical aid, houses for the homeless and for people who really need it. Either party is wrong, there are key points to both arguments. You just have to research and figure out if you believe space exploration is beneficial to the entire population of this world or if you should use all the money for other important

Space is open to anyone willing to explore it right now. There may be a time when we missed our chance to delve into the new frontier. Last time NASA asked for astronaut applicants, 200,000 people applied to take on a one-way mission to Mars (Kavanagh). So finding people willing to leave the safety of the Earth are not slim. “Putting boots on Mars is possibly the most exciting thing humans will ever do,” Bolden says, who is the director of NASA (qtd.…

That made the Space Race take off as everyone scrambled to edge out each other. At the end of it the US won the Space Race because of the Soviets giving the United States a reason to try and motivation to outdo them in space exploration. After the Space Race, space exploration became an everyday routine that the US strived to do. That including Curiosity which is currently trying to find new things about Mars and space. Vostok 1 in particular allowed us to reach new milestones because the US was so close to doing it themselves.…

As many people heard, going to Mars and colonize is a new mission everyone is discussing about. Many experts and scientists have looked into the Mars mission; in exploring or colonizing. This mission is still unclear whether they are ready to send manned missions or not. Stephen hawking; theoretical physicist and cosmologist, have said: “ ….we must spread out in space and find a new habitat”[1]. His wording encourages and agrees about colonizing Mars and thinks that the future of the Earth’s society is in space; “…our future is in space” [1].…

Our Place in the Stars: An Argument for the Continuance of Space Exploration The idea of space travel has fired the imaginations of people for hundreds of years. From the publication of Jules Verne’s book, From the Earth to the Moon, in 1865 to the recent release of the movie, The Martian, space travel has held a special place in the hearts of human beings. However, unlike so many other fictional sciences, modern humans actually have the capability to travel through space! Unfortunately, some skeptics say that space exploration is a futile waste, and that programs like NASA are throwing away money that should be spent on more useful things. These naysayers would put to death one of the greatest undertakings in human history without considering…

Funding to the Final Frontier: US government funding manned space flight missions I have always wondered how stars would look like from a different planet. The universe around us is unknown and undiscovered. Investigating space could reveal answers to being alone in the universe. Governments all around the world want the achievement of space exploration. The US government should continue to fund manned space flight missions because it could lead to further research on space, the colonization of other planets, and peaceful collaboration with other nations.…

A poll conducted in 2013 by Boeing and the nonprofit Explore Mars revealed that seventy-five percent of Americans believe in doubling NASA’s budget so humans reach Mars sooner (Lidz). With a majority of the country on board with furthering exploration of other planets, it is evident that people have recognized the great need for such research. Certainly, if the American people see the need in funding their space program, there must be a great significance in doing…

The Moon Landing and Neil Armstrong’s first steps on the moon are forever going to be commemorated as one of the greatest days in the United States’ history. The presence of man on the moon gave America great power during the Cold War and set them up as leaders in science. But with the increasing rise in robotic technology, the question of whether the continuation of humans in space exploration is necessary or even important, or if it would be smarter, safer, and overall more cost-efficient and cheaper to conduct space travel missions solely with robots, rovers, and other technology. Man, however, has proven to have a wider range of skills and problem-solving abilities than robots ever could, and in order to eventually inhabit planets other…

The US Government has done great things in the past with space travel, but recently with their decision making they have created a huge block for the advancement into space. One space mission may launch in 2017 after being pushed back from a 2015 launch may see even more delays as congress cuts more and more money from NASA (Davenport). Today’s time has seen the degradation of the NASA space program, and many devoted advocates in the private sector are trying tirelessly to bring it back to prominence, but they are going to need help. From cheaper launch techniques and private companies, to just plain giving NASA more funds, there are many ways that people are trying to find a solution to the endangerment of manned space travel. There are countless groups all striving to find better ways to space.…

Space can push humanity towards better education. Using the STEM education system, (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) we can create a better field of workers capable for a space career. Even if we increase the education for a small part of the population, many will still not even have any type of education. We should worry about our world and not how to further our lives on a different one if we haven’t made the best of the world we occupy. Furthermore, the rocketry type, (thermal rocketry) is the same from what we used over 50 years ago.…
