The Razors Edge The Razors Edge was a story created in 1944 and two years later was transformed film (in 1946) and redone in the mid-1980s. It is a captivating story of a man’s quest to find the meaning of life. The movie brought you to many places and left me questioning many actions, only to find the answer of why he did it shortly after his actions. This movie has many meanings, it makes you think, it gets under your skin, and it really makes you think about how you live your life. The first time I saw this movie, it did not have much effect on me, it was the second and third time I watched it that it really provoked such thought and showed me so many meanings in one film; it was astonishing. And then you think of a fellow who an hour before was full of life and fun, and he's lying dead; it's all so cruel and so meaningless. It's hard not to ask yourself what life is all about and whether there's any sense to it or whether it's all a tragic blunder of fate." Death is a mystery, so unyielding, and can be senseless as Larry says. The experience of seeing it directly can deepen one's understanding of the real priorities in life and bring you to questioning the true meaning of such an existence as ours. Can just one existence truly change the world? This to me was the major meaning of the movie, you can change the world, if it is just one person in the world, it still counts. It doesn’t have to be big or drastic or anything like, it just has to be one life, for the better.
Finally the last meaning that is mostly important to me is you cannot be mad, or sad, or disappointed with every little thing that goes on in your life or else you will spend your whole life depressed. Larry had many things go wrong in his life, for instance he lost his fiancé to another man, he lost one of his great friends, he lost his second fiancé to another man who also killed her, and so much more.
