The Rape of Nanking The Rape of Nanking was a horrific and brutal massacre. It shows the world’s failure to acknowledge the cruel acts of people who take advantage of their ranks in government, meaning this went on for six weeks, thousands of people were killed, and no other countries even noticed or helped all of those people. is a human rights violation because pretty much all of the human rights were violated especially 3-5. “Article 3: Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person. The men and women in the Nanjing massacre couldn’t be protected by the police and the government, because they were the ones doing all of these awful things to them. Article 4: No one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms. Chinese women AND men were forced to be not your typical slaves, but sex slaves. Article 5: No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.” The Chinese women were tortured and raped Before and after they died.
