Unfortunelly, this act was only the beginning of Hitler’s terror, it was the early 1930s but there was more challenging events to come. In 1937, Hitler gain power in Germany but his attraction for art was still prevalent. He took a trip to Italy, Florence, and France to see the different paintings that so many people spoke about, during his visit he was deeply inspired. There was 400,000 artworks at the Louvre Museum in Paris, France. Hitler wanted to build his own museum, but instead of furnishing it with his own people’s paintings, he had a different idea. As he planned to conquer different areas their paintings would also be taken, while some would be destroyed. The second most powerful man in Germany, Speer Goehring, head of the Nazi Air Force was delighted in helping Hitler achieve these goals. He was an uneducated man who desired materialist things, once both Goehring and Hitler destroyed Poland on September 1, 1939, France, Russia, and every other conquered area, the paintings went too. If a culture survive from war but their work is diminished, the history is lost. Although, they are thought to have survived as people they have not survived in history, since there isn’t any art to leave behind. Art is needed and is crucial of humanity. For this reason, soldiers should risk their lives and fight for there remembrance in history. Their cultural heritage is an important thing to protect. Hitler’s past actions has forced many people to recognize the importance within the history lost as the era is incomplete without the paintings and the world has been in chaos about trueful ownership. For an example, the portrait of Adele is still in the Museum Hitler made as her niece, Maria Altmann, fight for ownership. The paintings created should be for the nation, since painting made represents one’s pride in their culture; however when someone take something from the nation the creator’s family should have ownership. In my opinion, the film was a great in take from my prior knowledge, much was learned while much is to be considered. I am certaining interested in the findings of those lost
