Michel Martin is an American journalist who currently works for the National Public Radio. She has received various awards including the Joan Barone Award for Excellence and the Candace Award. Her lecture was meant to discuss the ramifications of last year’s political election on public culture, and how to seek out civil communication. One Gallup poll she referenced was the increase from 53% to 70% in Americans favorability towards Muslims in just the last year. This can be attributed to many things, but mainly it is due to Donald Trump’s radical views. He has pushed people away from supporting him.
