With anger, she yelled at me “You fucking wetback Mexican this is only for whites” I was so shock that there is …show more content…
Yes, all race do have bad people but not all of that race is the same as that one bad person. The majority of undocumented immigrants only have dreams and that dream is the same as yours, to provide a better living for their kids. We not only want our children to succeed but we want to get along with everyone and be better at what we love to do and that is work. Yes, I agree that we should secure our borders not just Mexico’s, but all borders. This should mean racism and direct comments to Mexicans. Yes, we do pay taxes at the end of the year like everyone and no we are so afraid to ask for help from the government because that’s what people make sure to let us know if we ask for help we will never be able to be legal in the U.S. Put yourself in their shoes and would you like for all this too happened to you? If you don’t know by now what I am talking about, well here it is… Racism. Racism has been around for a long time and I have never thought a 10-year-old African American girl would have to experience it. “Many studies have shown that even among low-paid and minority groups, immigrants do not cause native unemployment”(PBS) it 's proven that illegal immigrants don’t take jobs away from American, and the idea that they do is just a false stereotype. Many Americans are willing to hire illegals because of their desire and passion for working hard and making a living for them and their families. “ A 2010 Census report found that 1.6 percent of immigrant males ages 18 to 39 were incarcerated, compared to 3.3 percent of native-born males in the same age group” (Yurcaba) undocumented workers don’t come to our country to cause problems and become criminals, they came to better their lives and escape the situation they were in before. Some even arrive at our country to escape the crime filled neighborhood in their country because they feared for their family’s safety like many of us Americans do. Illegal immigrants are really not that different from us, and I don’t understand why we treat them like they are.…

I come from a mixed race family, my mom is black and my dad is white. My two siblings are significantly lighter than I am, which brings about a lot of social controversy. I remember one day my sister came home, she was around four or five unaware of her complexion. She came in, sat my grandmother down like she was about to tell her the world 's biggest secret and said, "Nana, did YOU KNOW that I 'm BLACK?" It amazed me how she didn 't know she was black when she comes home to a black family every day; but then it dawned on me she 's so use to other black people judging her based on her color she believed she was white.…

When she said this when I was younger I didn 't understand it nearly as much as I do now.
