Should the Racing Industry Be Forced To Use Biofuels?

You may wonder if the racing industry should be forced to use biofuels. The racing industry is mostly for fun and sport right? Well all that fun is hurting our environment. Biofuels can help that issue. Using gas as fuel causes more air pollution and rids us of our oil which could be used for more necessary occasions and products. Yes, racing could be fun to watch or experience. But, do you really want the guilt of knowing your damaging our planet? Oil is used in gas for cars. Using it just for competition is just a waste in my opinion. Oil is non-renewable which means once we use it all, we can’t make more. The oil in the gas burns when the car or vehicle is on. Burning oil produces carbon dioxide, which pollutes the air we breathe. As I said before, oil is non-renewable. It’s getting harder and harder to access the more we use it. The more rare oil gets, the more expensive it becomes. Using biofuels can help with our problems of the pollution and damage that oil causes. Biofuels are renewable, so to help with our air pollution problems, if we make algae based biofuels they can absorb the carbon dioxide as they grow. Another good reason is biofuels make less greenhouse gases than fossil fuels when

The population of Earth is growing as we know it, we need as much land as we can get to fit in future families. Have you ever thought of using the land we don't use though? What about the land that is unsuitable for humans to live? That land could be a perfect area to grow the plants needed. Though, some might still argue and say the cost per gallon on biofuel would be too high. In fact, biofuels can be made easily only by using local materials. If you thought biofuels were expensive, then you have your facts wrong. Biofuels are actually the cheapest types of fuels in the

Modern societies throughout the world are dependent on oil and gas. Without these two resources America would have never experienced the Gilded Age that made America the industrial powerhouse that it is today. Not only do these resources supply us with transportation and countless other material items but because of how large the industry is it accounts for tens of thousands of jobs within the three sectors of the industry. Every year oil and gas are becoming rapidly more important.…

“Switchgrass is a very native perennial warm season grass with the ability to produce moderate to high biomass yields on marginal lands. These characters have resulted in the use of switchgrass in several Bioenergy conversion processes, including cellulosic ethanol production, biogas, and direct combustion for thermal energy applications.” (Carter, Jimmy 1) Switchgrass produces cellulose, when cellulose is broken down and ferment it, then becomes cellulosic ethanol which can be used to fuel automobiles. In this research paper I will be discussing switchgrass ethanol and why this interesting plant should be used as an alternative fuel source to using nonrenewable fossil fuels. Through the three chosen points I plan to argue the grass’s…

To reduce fuel consumption I would like to change the things used in fuel. Also NASCAR cars go through a lot of tires. “In fact, each team uses approximately 8-10 sets of tires per weekend. The tires are made primarily with synthetic rubber and therefore require oil to produce. According to the Rubber Manufacturers Association, it takes about 7 gallons of oil to make one tire.”…

Biofuels and bioenergy are as old as civilization itself. Solid biofuels, such as wood, animal waste, and charcoal have been used since man discovered fire, and they are still used today for cooking and heating in many communities and in developing countries. Liquid biofuels such as olive oil and whale oil have been used in the ancient past. From the mid 1700s to the early 1800s, whale oil was extensively used and was the fuel of choice for lighting houses. In this time period, whaling was a big business and whale populations greatly decline.…

Energy production, it is something that today’s world cannot go without. Many believe, though, that fracking to acquire Natural Gas is a non-efficient and a destructive way of doing it. This paper is not intended to argue the fact that is has no harm, but instead, that as of this moment in time there is no better way to mass produce energy than Natural Gas and fracking is the best method of obtaining it. The use of fracking to obtain Natural Gas is the most efficient, cleanest, and least damaging way to mass produce Natural Gas in today’s world. It is argued that fracking to acquire the gas from the ground is not the best way of getting it.…

The road to cleaner and more efficient energy production could be paved by hydraulic fracking. The combustion of natural gas emits significantly lower levels of carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide than the combustion of coal or oil. The result of lower levels of carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide is cleaner air and safer environment. In recent years 81% of new electricity capacity has been gas fired.…

The world we live in is changing daily. Fossil fuel consumption has to be reduced, before our planet can begin to repair the damage man has caused. “It is estimated the world uses 87.8 million barrels of crude oil a day” (Friedman 195). “In 2000 it was estimated that the US consumed nearly 20 million barrels of oil a day, which is about 5% more than similar nations” (195). Oil consumption demand is going to increase as long as the supply can meet the demand.…

Pollution from vehicles is very harmful to the Earth and the people on it, and has been polluting the Earth for over a hundred years now. We need a way of transportation that’s less harmful to humans and the environment, that doesn’t produce toxic fumes, and costs less money. Battery powered cars are the solution to this problem. Battery powered cars are a safe, non polluting alternative to regular vehicles that burn fossil fuels. Replacing gasoline cars with these non polluting battery powered cars would cut down on air pollution, save money, and would save fossil fuels.…
