Throughout the centuries, African American suffered through race discrimination, slavery, and challenges that other races never experienced. Race discriminations towards African Americans began in the 17th centuries, when Africans were forced to be brought to the United States as slaves. They experienced countless of punishments, starvations, and terrible living conditions. Even today, inequality toward African Americans is still occurring; most people still view African American as filthy, inferior and worthless. For example, in 1865, African Americans were freed from slavery and started to fight for their own rights. Through long term protest and speeches, African Americans finally achieved their goals of having the rights to vote and share other public places with whites. But did African Americans actually received freedom and equality? The answer is No! African Americans are still being segregated from the white. In the U.S, red lining is a severe problem. Red lining segregate African Americans from the White and prevent Blacks from getting into white’s neighborhood. If African American were being treated equitably, why are African Americans still supplant from American? Therefore, African Americans will never be treated equal as American, because in people’s sight, blacks are always lowly and deceitful. African Americans have experience such inequality for centuries, but such discrimination towards African Americans never stops. Moreover, if racial discrimination never stop, African American will not ever be treated equitably.
