The Race Through Space

The Race Through Space is the newest and spectacular roller coaster in Pennsylvania that goes at a speed of 0-50 miles per hour in three seconds. This roller coaster takes you through all eight planets going at an average speed of sixty miles per hour. Race Through Space starts by shooting you up a whopping 210-foot hill reaching the Sun at instantaneous speed before adventuring through the planets. These planets are created to appear like the actual planet.
The moment before you dive into Mercury, potential energy is at its highest. Once you fall down the hill into Venus, the acceleration increases and the forces are most intense. Coming out of Venus, the kinetic energy is present and it throws you through the Earth at a speed of 62 miles per hour. Once you depart from Earth, you push through the two loops leading you right into Mars.
After you land on Mars, you go shooting down a long hill reaching terminal velocity, into

This roller coaster features it all: loops, hills, and turns. Race Through Space is a roller coaster that starts outside, and then shifts its way into the huge building. This feature has not been done often or a lot in the past. As you can see, the roller coaster train is more of a fade type where multiple colors blend in with each other. This is a reference to Mario Kart with the action of a rainbow road type feeling on your train! As you go through the planets you’ll experience sudden stops and long drops. All 7 planets are accurately painted to appear like the real planet. So, you get a limited amount of history on the planets. In fact, 210 feet is higher than any roller coaster at Pennsylvania's Hersheypark. This roller coaster is ranked in the top 30 for height, so why don’t you come on over to Pennsylvania and give it a try. Now, get ready and make sure you are buckled up as you experience the Race Through

I remember the gut wrenching feeling in my stomach as my best friend and I approached the tallest and fastest roller coaster at Hershey Park, called SkyRush. I am not sure why I agreed to go on this roller coaster, considering most of the time at amusement parks I entertain myself with food, and miniature rides that stay level to the ground. Unlike me, my friend liked the rush and heart dropping feeling of being at the apex of a roller coaster and then dropping down at maximum speed. Personally, I preferred the ground, where I remained in full control of my own safety. Yet that afternoon I found myself standing in line for SkyRush.…

The anticipation on the line was killing me. I knew if this line would slowly drag me along any longer I would chicken out and regret not going on the ride. All I could watch was the bright green car speeding down the track faster than a gazelle being chased by a hawk. The bright yellow sun against the light blue sky was blinding me, making the car go out of view for a moment, then seeing it already at the top. The only thing that I could think of was the giant, green, vertical drop that I was about to confront.…

    Mercury's 88-Day

Mercury's rare passage across the face of the sun on Monday, May 9, should be an exciting event for skywatchers and scientists alike. The planet's pass across Earth's nearest star may provide information about its thin atmosphere, assist in the hunt for worlds around other stars, and help NASA hone some of its instruments. As seen from Earth, Mercury appears to cross the disk of the sun — an event known as a transit — only about 13 times per century. Currently, transits of Mercury always occur in either May or November (this changes over hundreds of years), with spring transits only occurring about a third of the time.…

Its funny today with all of the fast roller coasters but the first roller coaster in the United States only went 6 miles per hour. These days roller coasters come in all different shapes and sizes and the fastest roller coaster goes 149 miles per hour, which is a big difference from the beginning of roller coasters when riders would sit on books of wood and ice with straw stuffed inside of it, then they would get a little push and slide down. When Paris wanted in on all the fun they realized they didn't have the cold winter climate that the Russians had so they added a track to the ride and then they added wheels onto their sleds, effectively creating the modern roller coaster in 1817. Today roller coasters are built with wheeled cars that are all linked together and that move along in a pair with the structure of is supported by either wood or steel. The cars are linked by a chain that carries the cars up a steep incline.…

It was the largest, most thrilling roller coaster yet to be found. I didn't believe it but knowing my best friend Prisa she was not gonna let me miss out on as she would always say, “once in a lifetime opportunities”. It was just plain old humid and to add on to that, we were crowded with a solid 200 people in the line,…

The inner solar system planets Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars are fascinating because they orbit closest to the sun. In fact, a human could possibly stand on the four inner planets, unlike the four outer planets that are made of gas. Earth, Mercury, Venus, and Mars provide crucial information for researchers who need additional information about the four inner planets. I chose this topic because I thought it would be facilitating to learn about a different world, and how they are similar, yet different from each other. Mercury is the closest planets to the sun because it is only 35.98 million miles from the sun, whereas the other three inner planets are much farther away.…

Michael Fann Timothy Gleason Modern American History - HIST101 October 13, 2014 The Space Race Beginning in 1958 the United States government deemed it imperative, due to a multitude of reasons, to expand its aeronautical prowess and space presence. The agency that was spawned from these motivations was non-other than NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Agency). Many would argue that this bureau was developed in direct correlation to the Soviet’s launch of the world’s first artificial satellite, Sputnik. Advancements in a myriad of other scientific fields ensued as the USSR furthered its quest to put Man into space as well.…
