The Q source is the hypothetical document which contains much of Jesus’s teachings and parables. The Q source is important when studying the New Testament because no two gospels are the same, and the Q source can be used to understand where differences and abnormalities come from.
Fulfillment Citation-
A fulfillment citation is a piece of text that contains a paraphrased line from a prophet, describing how a messianic figure fulfills said prophecy. This short answer will be an examination of the latter. The Gospel according to Mark likes to establish Jesus as a complex person that most did not fully comprehend. The Gospel of Mark wastes little time introducing Jesus, immediately stating that, “He is Christ, the Son of God.” (Mark 1:1) Delving only sentences past, Mark unleashes a cluster of fulfillment citations to introduce John the Baptist, who’s duty is to, “…’Prepare the way for the Lord. [and] Make straight paths for him.’ (Isaiah 40:3)” (Mark 1:3) From what ‘Mark’ has written, it is clear he wants to rid the story of Jesus from any confusion about who he was. Another thing is made clear as well, Jesus did not want people knowing who he was, and this is also most likely what also lead people to confusion.
