. In order to find the historical Jesus, there are few sources that align with the oldest layer of literature that can be used to interpret the historical Jesus. One of these sources is the Quelle Gospel. Quelle is the german word for source, and is often abbreviated as the Q Gospel. This gospel is imbedded in both Matthew and Luke. Whenever Matthew and Luke both agree on something, but it is not mentioned in Mark, that means it is from another source, the Q gospel. This gospel doesn't really exist, or is not known to humans today though. It is hypothetical and intangible. In the Hebrew bible, John 1:1 says, “In the beginning was the word, and the word was with god, and the word was god.” By using the term “word," the translation of this scripture doesn't grasp what it actually means. The original term used for “word” was “logos.” Logos in essence, is the idea, or intelligence of God. in John 1:14, it also says that “the word became flesh.” This is in regard to the incarnation of Jesus and God. In Jewish thought, the logos is the law, because that is what connects humans to God. Overall, the logos is incomprehensible to humans because it is the notion and intelligence of god. The logos in the gospel of John is so important, because it shows us how Christianity came about and what sets Christianity apart from other Abrahamic religions. By saying that the logos is the idea of incarnation, and also the pre-existing law, it is merging ancient jewish thoughts with new thoughts of the logos to form an entirely new religion, Christianity.
