For instance, as a licensed real estate professional I am held to an ethical code that was created to “help govern the behavior of Realtor members and to increase the level of competence and standards of practice among Realtors” (Bell, 2014). Acknowledging this code indicates that I understand my professional responsibility to uphold the laws, regulations and standards of the bureau; and, I will conduct myself ethically, honestly and with integrity in my dealings with and on behalf of the public. Likewise, the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) “Code of Ethics” provides procedural requirements for Public Administrators.
