The character, Will Smith, knows what it’s like to have everything and with the snap of a finger, nothing (Conrad). Happiness is not simply dependent on wealth. Everyone has seen poverty before by simply driving to a stop sign and seeing a person ask for change, yet not many people experience it. My experiences with poverty are much different than the average person. I have volunteered my time to help others in poverty in one of the poorest counties in the America. To witness so many people with so much less than yourself makes you grateful for what you do have. However, I found that people with so little make lemonade out of lemons. They find that even in the poorest situations they can be happy and live through it. Studies have shown that income, social status, living arrangements, and age only make up ten percent of a person 's happiness (Belic). In fact, Ed Diener, PH.D., found that a poorer family tends to be happier than a richer family. Diener believes that most of our happiness comes from social connections with others; therefore a more connected family will have happier people (Ed Diener). In contrast, some people had everything they wanted, and yet something, such as, a big comes in and swoops it all
