His science teacher was a very enthusiastic man who loved to teach children about the wonders of science and taught the curriculum well, but also made it interesting and incorporated fun activities that weren’t in a big heavy textbook that the students were not inclined to carry around. Not every student is molded to be a neurosurgeon like Lee Buono, but with the encouragement and patience of his teacher, he achieved an extremely incredible title and has made an amazing career for himself. Lay multiple times throughout my entire high school career as well, and there was no class that I looked forward to more than third period Spanish as a senior. No one has ever told me that it was going to be easy, but that I could do it and I was never discouraged to not pursue my dreams by anyone. Lee took the longest time to dissect his frog because he wanted to settle for nothing less than perfection, as impeccable was not a great enough adjective. The most influential people who taught me shaped me into the type of student I want to be and that everyone should try to be. I learned from Lee Buono that we should strive for perfection, even if that takes some extra time. When you know what you want to become, you can work hard to achieve it and that’s exactly what Lee Buono and myself have done, or in my case, are in the process of doing

I am currently enrolled at Schoolcraft College, where I have earned an Associate in Science and also, a Nursing Assistant Skills Certificate. For the remainder of the summer I will continue to attend Schoolcraft College, where I plan to complete two of the remaining courses for the nursing prerequisites requirements. Once classes end, I will begin the fall semester at Madonna University, where I intend to complete the remaining classes needed, in order to be considered into the program. Months into my first semester at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, I had felt a disconnection with the profession I had chosen--doctor. I felt confused and tried to work through it, convincing myself that it was the right choice.…

Since a very young age, I have had an interest in, and enjoyed caring for others when they are sick or injured. During my Freshman year of high school, I began to realize that the medical field was my calling. I was not sure what area of study I wanted to pursue a career in, but I knew that I had an affinity for the sciences and the medical field. It wasn't until two years later, my Junior year, that radiography became the area of the medical field that I knew I wanted to concentrate on. I have been a cheerleader since third grade.…

"Good better best, never let it rest, 'till your good is better and your better is best." These simple words were spoken to me by my high school band director Cheldon Williams on the first day of my high school experience. This, followed by my experience of marching band and my eventual learning of piano sparked a period of introspective thought, and mental growth, that transcended to where I am today. Never in my life did I think my hard work and dedication inspired by Mr. Williams words would land me at Interlochen Center for the Performing Arts Boarding School. These words became a core part of what I am, and from freshman year on would encourage me to never set a limit on my potential, and my overall worth.…

He could connect with students by instilling confidence and a deeper gratitude for the items we have. He constantly reminded us the contrasting lives that we have, and those in less fortunate circumstance be it a lack of resources, loss of limbs, or even unviable parental influence. He was also the type of individual that at the end of each year would persuade students with any unused or outgrown clothes to be donated for charity. He possesses characteristics that I, and many others envy with his strong-willed determination, upholding only the most honorable principles, and containing ambitions with endless expanding desires. What most people do not acknowledge is that being an instructor is a difficult position.…
