The purpose of political parties in the UK? The purpose of political parties in the UK is to ensure political choice, for example, choosing different leaders, ideas and policies. Another purpose that political parties attempt to provide is political participation as parties are a way to be involved in the process without other than voting. Parties also have a similar recruitment to that of the PM this means that parties are like training roles. Parties also have several functions such as a direct channel of communication between leaders and supporters this purpose is very valuable when party leaders attempt to get views and policies across. They also provide accountability because they show who is in charge of the parties this helps the voters and supporters understand who is in control. I will look into these points as a way to show the purpose of political parties and look to further on these points in detail and describe in depth. A primary purpose of political parties in the UK is political choice which means that political parties enforce the ability to choose between various leaders, ideas and policies. Influencing the backbone of the political parties and, therefore, shapes the future of them. Without political choice, parties would be run not by the people the public want but by people placed into these roles.
