The Purpose of E.A.G.L.E. Summit Learning Academy

The E.A.G.L.E. stands for “Enrichment for an Academic Guided Learning Environment.” The E.A.G.L.E. Learning Academy is geared towards improving each student’s needs in academics, behavior modification, social interaction and emotional development. The function of this academy is to inspire, encourage, motivate, and provide students with the tools to improve their behavior and academics, which will help develop the appropriate skills to prepare for the future after high school and strengthen their post-secondary opportunities and aspirations. E.A.G.L.E. Summit Learning Academy is designed to decrease referrals, suspensions, expulsions, and encourage academic and behavioral success, which is a part of the WASC accreditation report district LCAP goals. Academically, more students will strive to increase the quality of their education, which is supportive of two of our board of trustee LCAP goals. E.A.G.L.E. Summit Learning Academy encompasses the district 's mission of “Endless Possibilities for All Students.” The district 's initiative for California Common Core State Standards (CCSS), Response to Interventions (RTI), Professional Learning Communities (PLC), and Positive Behavior Interventions Supports (PBIS) built into the program to decrease incidents of behavior and raise academic rigor. Significantly, the program promotes healthy relationships with staff, peers, community stakeholders, and administration. Promoting quality student-teacher relationships, and parent-teacher relationships, fosters a more supportive educational environment. It develops a greater sense of community across the campus, community, and the district. This program supports the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) with promoting parent involvement, and providing enrichment for low socioeconomic academic students, and fostering new interventions for students
