Hoarding more than the permitted amount of dried eggs, listening to a foreign radio broadcast, and associating with known hooligans are actions that could possibly get you killed. These laws, are unreasonable and in no way helped better the society therefore the laws that were enacted by the Purple Shirt party were taken advantage by citizens, in order to kill the their enemies. There has been a large amount of innocent lives that were taken away because of the Grudge Informers therefore letting Grudge Informers get away with seems to be immoral. People who feel that they can get away with murder once, may feel that they can do it again hence it is important to punish these people through the law in a civilized way. If we were to proclaim everything that happened under the Purple Shirts to be without legal basis, it would invite an unbearable chaos, as majority of the population wants the Grudge Informers to be punished. When the Purple Shirts were in charge and their rules were enact, people responded to these laws by not only getting rid of those they accused but with desire to ingratiate with the part, raised against them or through absolute officiousness. Deputy 1and 2 seem well placed in their reason but misplaced in the wish of the population to seek justice. They offer a no action plan hence offers absolutely no resolution for the people. Deputy 2 comes forth with the argument that the Grudge Informers should not be prosecuted because they were acting lawful. Although the Grudge Informers were acting lawful, the laws that some Grudge Informers used to essentially kill another person were laws that did not benefit the society in any way. The laws created by the Purple Shirts which resulted in death, if not followed were hoarding more than the permitted amount of dried, failing to provide identification papers within 5 days and listening to foreign radio broadcasts. The following rules did not benefit the society, thus the only reason that seems to be logical for its use was for the citizens in order to kill their enemies. Therefore, even though they were acting lawful, the law that was created was immoral and had no significance to the society. Another point that is brought upon by Deputy 2 is the fact that it is unfair to deprive a defendant on the terms of laws that were not given reasonable notice of liability. What is also unfair in this situation is taking away another’s life for selfish reasons. Instead of looking at this case based on what was legal at that particular time, they should focus more
