The purple roller coaster with a Bizarro logo on the front came to a sudden stop. The silver gates that were keeping me in like a caged animal opened, almost like they were freeing me. But they weren’t, they were leading me right into my biggest fear. My heart was beating out of my chest, and I could hear the pounding in my ears- Oh yeah, you guys don’t know how this all started. It all started in the car on the way here. My friend Jack and I were watching Shrek on my ipad. We were in the car with my mom, Jack’s brother Matt, and my brother Mike, on our way to Six Flags. Jack and I were really excited, because we hadn’t been to Six Flags in an entire year.
“Halfway there,” Mike shouted.

I thought about it. “Fine, but only this time- and that’s it.” I said. We waited for Mike and Matt, and got in line. The line was about 20 minutes long. We got to the front of the line. The purple roller coaster with a Bizarro logo on the front, and you already know the rest. Anyway, I had my regrets, but I was determined to face my fears. The last passengers loaded off, as the new ones loaded on. As the workers checked to see if all of the seat belts were tight and the lap bars stayed, I was definitely having second thoughts about going. But BOOM! It was too late to get off. The boom meant the ride was starting. As the carts went up, the superman theme song was playing through the speakers on the seat. “Do you like it?” Jack asked. “We made it halfway up the track,” I snapped “And I already hate it!” We made it to the top, and I started screaming at the top of my lungs, so loud and high pitched, that a human probably couldn’t even hear it. After about 30 seconds, I stopped screaming because I was out of breath. I looked around, noticing that it was actually fun. I put my hands up, and screamed (in a good

A few years ago, on a class trip, my friends had asked me to ride at least one roller coaster. It was not a large roller coaster, but it made me queasy just looking at it. I was confident that I would be able to go on and enjoy the experience. My confidence quickly evaporated when we began climbing up the roller coaster’s first hill. The ride dropped, and I was screaming so loudly that I could only hear myself.…

When we got there, we decided to go in the single riders line, since the single riders line is usually faster than the regular line. And so we waited and after what seemed like a million years (actually milliseconds), we finally got to get on the ride. “Finally, we get to get on the ride,” I said. And it started out pretty slow,…

It was the largest, most thrilling roller coaster yet to be found. I didn't believe it but knowing my best friend Prisa she was not gonna let me miss out on as she would always say, “once in a lifetime opportunities”. It was a hot, sunny day as the sun lit up the whole park. The blunt air had no wind or even a soft gentle breeze. It was just plain old humid and to add on to that, we were crowded with a solid 200 people in the line,…

However, just as I said this the spiritless roller coaster attendant strapped me in permanently ensuring I couldn’t back out. After the attendants strapped everyone in, they did their whole spiel on how we were going to have a great time, but the words muddled in my mind as I was more focused on breathing. The car moved onward and screeched at us as if in warning. Then suddenly the car stopped, I’m pretty sure just to spite us.…

Crossing the sidewalk into the large park was like crossing the border into another world.…

Seven years ago, my friends and I went to an amusement park and like any other young child, I couldn’t wait to ride every single rollercoaster there was. I loved each one, irrespective of the number of loops it had or how fast it went. However, this changed when I got on one called the drop-tower. As the name suggests, it was a monstrous tower that carries riders up in a gondola to the top of the tower and then suddenly the gondola drops down. In seconds, it dropped me 100 feet down in the air, as I heard the echoes of a hundred-people screaming.…
