Introduction
If you think I’m an ordinary pumpkin, you’re wrong. I am the most magical creature on this made-up universe! Yes, I’m even more magical than Harry Potter. How do I know? It all started when I was sitting in my office doing

random work. I was dozing when all of a sudden, I heard a roar as loud as a train would be if you were standing 1 inch away from it...not that you should try it. Back to the

Where are we? How thick is this place?” I asked, confused.

“The mantle is made up of hot, but solid rock. Scientists divide the mantle into layers based on the physical characteristics of those layers. The temperature of the part of the mantle close to the crust, also known as the lithosphere, is about 500-900 degrees Celsius. The bottom of the mantle is called the asthenosphere. It is about 4,000 degrees Celsius at the bottom. The whole mantle is 2,867 kilometers thick,” he informed.

Even though that sounded like jibberish, I pretended that I understood.

“I told you I can read minds. I know you don’t understand but I don’t care. You are a waste of time and space. Now move before I make you,” he angrily said.

I stood there, rooted to the spot. All of a sudden, he dragged me into a hole. I was falling...falling….and falling.

Chapter 3: The Outer Core Burns Up
I was still falling when I regained consciousness. When I stopped falling, the only thing around me was a piece of bread. I was incredibly hungry so I was about to eat the piece of bread. It was about to enter my esophagus, but I heard a squeal. I dropped the bread as fast as I fell through the hole. A floppy fish came swimming through the outer core. This was super

Much to the dislike of the others, the Toms, BoBo, and the Honeydoos, Spookley is bullied for being square. It’s only until Spookley saves the day with support from his new best friend spiders- Edgar, Allan, and Poe that the pumpkins realize being different is great after all.…

hort stories are some of the first stories and tales that children become familiar with in their lives. However, as we get older sometimes we forget what these stories are about, their stories that have positive family and life values, or can be ways that continue to shape our lives as we grow. The Cat in the Hat and the Grinch, along with others by Dr. Seuss are some of that the coolest and well know short stories out there. I also like the morals and quotes in the short stories, that always rhyme and always have good positive uplifting meaning behind them. A list of quotes by Dr. Seuss that are interesting and meaningful are: Today you are you!…

Below the crust lies the sense mantle, which is a depth of 2890 km. The mantle consists of dense silicate rocks. It behaves as a fluid, but the P- and S- waves from the earthquakes travel through the mantel, demonstrating that it is a solid. Next, the core, composed of iron and nickel, exists because it refracts seismic waves creating a “shadow zone” as distance of 103 degrees and 143 degrees. The earth has a circumference of about 6,371 kilometers at the poles and about 6,393 at the equator.…

A day in the life of a pumpkin I woke up in the middle of the pumpkin patch with all the other pumpkins. Today was the first day that the humans could come and pick one of us to take home with them. Of course, we pumpkins had no say in this, we would just sit on the silly human’s porch, then be thrown away as soon as Thanksgiving comes like garbage. Soon, the humans have arrived to look at all of us pumpkins, a perfect little family came along and decided to take me home. After, a long and bumpy car ride home, the humans begin to take out knives and prepared to cut in my flesh.…

On March 13, 1900, the severed body parts of Ernst Winter were found, neatly packaged and distributed around the small Polish town of Konitz. Two days earlier, Ernst Winter was brutally murdered; his blood was drained from his body while each of his limbs were cut with a sawblade. The townspeople quickly made two assumptions about the murder: the murderer must’ve been Jewish because of the drained blood and the murderer must’ve been a butcher because of the incredibly precise incisions. This presumptuous criterion led directly to Adolph Lewy, the only Jewish butcher in Konitz. Staying true to their inherent prejudice, the common-people of Konitz associated the murder with a blood libel, which was a barbaric Jewish practice of ritually slaughtering Christian children and baking matzo with their blood.…

It was the night before Halloween and I was so excited for Halloween we had our school party that day and I wore my costume home, my mom told me to go and change so I could play with my sisters and we were playing a bad game, the game was that we were running around the house and locking the doors so other siblings wouldn't come in, so I was running towards my front door (which had glass window) as I was running I looked back and saw my sister Lilly chasing me then it all went black. The next thing I remembered was my arm was through the glass my sister Summer was on the other side of the door and her face was white and my mom looking at me and her face was even whiter, Lilly and summer were screaming. My aunt lived down the street from us and heard Lilly and Summer screaming and came running with my cousin Chelsea.…

In the 20th century, the structure of the earth was explored. The layers of the earth according to depth were; crust, mantle and core with the crust being the outermost while crust the deepest. The characteristics of these layers vary in density, heat and nature. The crust is rigid, and the thinnest; especially in the oceanic regions. This is due to relatively uniformity of the ocean surface compared to the land; which is defined by large variations in topography including mountains and valleys.…

    Plate Tectonics Essay

Plate tectonics is the belief the lithosphere is separated into a few dozen plates that move around across the earth 's surface relative to each other, like big pieces of ice on a lake. If we were able to lay the earth flat to see where the plates were positioned, it would have the appearance of an orange peel; with the earth 's crust as the orange color shell and the white as the lithosphere. The break points would be fault lines, the plate’s outer perimeter that aligns and intersects them. In its early history, geologists believe that the continents and ocean basins of the earth did not move.…

“Two deformation types are Important in upper mantle conditions: diffusion creep and dislocation creep. Diffusion creep is solid-state diffusion between grain boundaries or across a crystal lattice. Preferred mineral orientation is not developed and thus the deformed material is isotropic. Diffusion creep occurs at relatively low stress, small grain size, or both: the strain rate increases linearly with stress but decreases significantly with grain size. Dislocation creep is the motion of crystalline dislocations within grains; it causes preferred mineral orientation and therefore anisotropy.…

Geologically, we can divide the outer core of the earth into two parts which are lithosphere and asthenosphere. Lithospheric shell contains a number of major breaks which can be referred as plate boundaries. Lithosphere sits on Asthenosphere, which is the portion of the mantle, causing the plates to move around as its solid and ductile properties. When we think about the movements of plate tectonics, we generally come up with the idea of dramatic natural disasters which destroy and derive numerous lives from the earth, however, plate tectonics contribute to many benefits to human society through the rock cycle which provides us many meaningful natural resources. Human’s life on the Earth is so fragile, because we are so small compared to the…
