She adopts a biological definition of love that seems to have a deeper meaning at first, but ultimately sets additional limitations to what love is and how social connections are created. The book supports Fredrickson’s practice of psychological positivity but fails to consider the negative social and biological aspects of love and social relationships (Miller Spellmeyer 105). Fredrickson’s limitations continue to exceed social connectivity through negativity because she only describes love and connections as the synchronization of two brains rather than connecting emotionally with an artist or a spirit. Ultimately, Fredrickson challenges society’s preconceptions of relationships but fails to provide theory and evidence that counter her personal…

There is no greater tool to portray an idea than through the emotional power of the arts; the expression of human creative skill and imagination. The arts hold the ability to revolutionize and influence the world, with the greater purpose of bringing an idea to life. Some use the arts to rope their audience in, sharing the unknown and taking them to a place of fantastical wonder unlike anything available to them in this realm. Others use it to create pieces of work that bind themselves to the reality, as a way of deepening one’s experience in the world. A major focus of this theory is the development of identity and a sense of individualization throughout the course of one’s life. Erik Erikson (1950) rectified this by introducing his psychosocial theory of development in his book entitled ‘Childhood and Society’. The funny thing is that Erikson noticed that most of his patients were not hung up on sexual problems, as the patients of Sigmund Freud reported, but instead talked about problems with understanding themselves and getting along with others. Erikson converted Freud’s emphasis on sexuality to a focus on social relationships and then extended Freud’s five psychosexual stages to eight psychosocial stages. These stages became known as the Eight Ages of Man.…
