Persuasive Essay On The Atomic Bomb

The Atomic bomb is a very destructive weapon that can obliterate anything in a 5 mile radius. This device had been developed in a project over the past few years starting in 1939 which was known as the Manhattan project. During the project over 100,000 people were employed and scientists from various nations contributed their work towards creating the bomb. Finally on July 16, 1945, it was tested in the Trinity test in central New Mexico. While this test was a success, the struggle with Japan and relations with the USSR were still present for the U.S. which led Truman to decide on the Atomic bomb usage. Also the scientists involved in the USSR are very intelligent and have the capability of succeeding in their project, but to do so they need the right materials such as uranium ore. Something important to keep in mind is the presence of spies throughout the U.S. who have been giving classified information to the Soviet Union. If the war with Japan continues, the USSR will eventually be able to produce many bombs with the help of their spies who are mostly hidden in Canada, our country, and Great Britain. This cannot happen since we will cease to be the leading country with atomic bombs, but instead the Soviets will take control and possibly move towards Japan and its captured territories such as Manchuria. To prevent them from disturbing the war between us and Japan we must use our developed bombs and send a message to the USSR that it is too late for them to intervene. The tension between our nation and the Soviets has grown and nothing good is going to come of it in the long run, and also once the war ends our relationship with them will play an important factor in our future international
