The positives of Wollen’s structural system are that it is objective and scientific. It is possible to prove and disprove his system because it is a discourse and not a theory, unlike Sarris. With Wollen’s structural system its possible for a director to completely change their directing style and you would still be able to use his structural analysis to determine whether or not they were still an auteur.

All these characters are shown as different and unlike the rest of the characters in the film.

In terms of technical competence, Anderson knows how to make a film, he plays a major part in them cause he writes and directs all his films, and has also produced most of his films. Regards to personal style, he uses the same camera shots/movements, e.g. the use on long shots, all of this films look and sound a particular way. Lastly, in terms of interior meaning, his films are mostly set in California, because that is where he is born and still lives now.
