According to page one of “Weight Loss Diets: Are They All The Same?” in paragraph two it talks about how 68% of adult American people are either overweight or obese. He goes on to say that the food industry has created a multimillion dollar business out of Weight Loss oriented foods. The main idea of Foreyt’s article is to compare low carb diets and low-fat diets: how they work and how they are different, and these two diets do work very different. On page two of Foreyt’s article, when he speaks on Low Carbohydrate diets he talks about the carb intake being cut back to 20 to 60 grams per day. Foods that are high in starch and sugar such as white rice, potatoes, bread and pasta are cut out in low carb dieting and are replaced with foods that are high in protein such as meat, nuts and some dairy products.
