States who will be participating in this vote include Washington, Maine, Arizona, and Colorado. The wage hikes haven’t seen much support but if they were enacted they would have a major effect. Changes would be gradual and would take place over a few years. These changes range from 43% all the up to about 60%. Minimum wage has been a major topic of discussion in recent years and have been known to do well on ballots. States have been known to push for higher wages with $15 remaining the goal in most. I believe minimum wage has been an issue in this country for far too long. This is something that I believe that need to be change and regulated by the government. I think it doesn’t make sense to have a vote every few years trying to decide whether a raise is needed. It doesn’t make sense to have such a huge gap between states wages. Also, the peoples vote also doesn’t always reflect what will be in the best interest of the country and what will help end up helping the economy the most. The country needs to do something about the way wages are decided upon because I think it’s getting out of control.

With the legalization of marijuana in these states the amount of legal users is about four times larger than before. The federal government is not expected to change their stance on the drug and will most likely continue to allow states to set their own regulations.
