Increased college attendance is needed because when internationally compared, the United States fall behind other industrialized nations. As noted by Thomas Billitteri, only 39% of US adults have two or four year degrees compared to Japan and South Korea, where more than half (ages 25- 34) hold degrees (par. 7). Increasing education and skills are imperative to compete in today’s job market. Conversely, the cons of this advertising campaign would be knowing when to discourage some students from seeking certain four year degree program.
