Tidal energy is a renewable energy created by using gravitational forces from the sun and the moon. Since the moon rotates around the Earth, and the sun’s placement is constantly changing, the sea levels are always rising or falling. These different levels create the tide cycle and energy is gathered from the difference in sea levels, currents, and tides.
