It has been a key part of how war has been fought over the last century in particular. One last reason for the benefits of war is the extreme technological growth it brings. War puts “an enormous demand upon a nation's resources.”(Strickland). Whenever war is declared, immediately questions arise on the warfare that is going to be used. One of the questions that comes up is, how can we have an advantage over the opposition? That is how there are calls for new weapons and military vehicles, leading to new and improved technology. For example, during the first World War, Great Britain began using tanks as a new weapon in response to trench war techniques of the time. The tank was a brand new technology that had been introduced during the war. It meant Great Britain was the first country to make the tank. This led to advantage on the battlefield and to the development of Great Britain as a world superpower. Another question may be, how will we keep our soldiers healthy? War has lead to many medical technological advances throughout the past century. The invention of the air ambulance, for example, was a big medical step forward. The air ambulance usually in form of a helicopter. Its level of advancement as written on BBC, “Modern equipment has allowed Larrey's approach to be taken to a new level with troops evacuated by a helicopter carrying a doctor, nurse and two paramedics, as well as the sort of equipment you would normally find in a hospital emergency unit”(Michael 1). This shows the medical technology advancements achieved through war, as someone can be seen in a helicopter nearly in the same way as in a hospital. War is continually changing and progressing
