Free trade agreement (FTA) allows its members to trade goods and service with less barriers and restrictions. There is a lot of FTA that have been made between countries around the world. In ASEAN area we have AFTA ( ASEAN Free Trade Area ) , In North America we have NAFTA ( North America Free Trade Area ) , and etc. Being an archipelago country with more than 17.000 islands, Indonesia is undeniably the most culture-rich nation in South East Asia. Among the massive amount of cultures, wayang and especially batik has a noticeable increase in popularity over the past years. Even when it comes to traditional food, Indonesia have a lot kind of food. Bakso is one of the Indonesian traditional food despite Indonesia actually have more like Nasi Padang , Martabak , Gudeg Jogja , etc. In the FTA that our country joined, we can use it to promote our local product to the world.

A pretty controversial dispute with Malaysia a few years ago seems to be a wake-up call for the people of Indonesia to appreciate their batik more. A lot of people wear batik today in Indonesia more than ever, innovations of batik seem to be popular, and most importantly. Indonesian people are doing everything they …show more content…
As quoted from President Joko Widodo in 2016, to deal with regional and global competition, Indonesia must increase its products’ competitiveness. This can be more easily achieved if the export taxes are cut, one of the many benefits of joining free trade agreements. For now, free trade agreements seems to be a win-win solution for both the country economics and people of Indonesia, not to mention the international citizens that become exposed to the rich culture of Indonesia. Because the culture of Indonesia that can be sell and show not only Batik, Wayang, or Bakso. We have a lot of other local products in fashion, food, arts, and others sector that international citizens will enjoy
