Alcohol has been used by virtually every culture and continent on earth. This proves that having the minimum drinking age to 21 does not mean the traffic accidents will decrease. There is another debate that argues that once you turn 18 you are allowed to get married, be prosecuted as an adult, sign binding contracts, purchase a house, voting, serve on a jury, and even join the military and die for your country, and pretty much by all intent and purposes be able to do everything an adult does except drink alcohol. This kind of mentality makes absolutely no sense. The law is basically saying that it trust an 18 year old to do all of this things, but not drink alcohol. The fact that almost every state didn’t immediately lower their minimum alcohol age when the law was pass by Ronald Reagan proves that most people where oppose to it, and they only didn’t because they would have been penalize by a 10 percent reduction in their federal highway money if they didn’t
