It doesnt matter wether or not your in your rigvht mind, you still commited a crime with the punishment of death. This has raised arguments on wether or not you should be able to exicute someone with a mental illness. A lot of people try to pleade insanity to get away with murder but what they faile to realize is that it won’t work in there favore. When someone is given the sentence of the death penalty, it has a large emotinal toll on the loved ones of the convicted. Some inmates would chose the death penalty over life, i guess the didn’t want to roat away in prison for the rest of there lives. In 1750-1799 alone there were about 1500 exicutions that took place. People can be on death row for years before there exicution date.
