Technology is surrounding us, and a large percentage of students and teachers are already making the switch to tablets. The U.S. Department of Education and the National Training and Stimulation Association have recently conducted studies that show that students who use a form of technology in schoolwork lessen the amount of time it takes to learn a topic by 80% (Reiss). Statistics from the U.S. Department of Education, National Training and Stimulation Association claim that using a form of technology reduces the amount of time it takes for students to reach a certain goal ("Should Tables Replace Textbooks in K-12 Schools?").
