The Pros And Cons Of Teenage Pregnancy

Improved Essays
Teenage pregnancy is rising in numbers each and every day. Teen girls and boys are having sexual intercourse before they are taught the true meaning behind the act. Teens having babies is about the best thing that has happened to the twenty-first century besides the iPhone. If she really loved and cared for her family, she would give them a baby at a young age. Teens typically start having sex around the age of seventeen, and this is also the most common age of having a baby. There is no way a girl should worry about getting pregnant her first time having sex, as it does not happen often.
No child wants to grow up with an old mom or dad. Children want their parents to be young so they can be their best friend and help with modern day problems.

I have come up with a solution to these problems, though. Schools stop at the twelfth grade, which means after that they are expected to go to college. Young girls and boys need to be taking care of their child, not spending even more time in school. For that reason, schools will stop at the tenth grade. Tenth grade is the typical grade at which you learn the most. The eleventh and twelfth are useless and are just dragging out the years. This rule will go for every child, not just those having a baby. A mother shall be at home with her child and does not need to waste away her time at school where she is not taught how to raise her child. If a girl happens to get pregnant before they are in the tenth grade, that girl will attend school until she has her baby and return to school the day after birth. It is required to go to school until the tenth grade at least. Parents and babysitters will be responsible for watching her child until school is over.
Many can agree, teenagers like to do nothing, so many of which have babies do not have jobs. These children rely on their parents to pay for everything their child needs. Teens should not have to work and be away from their child, which is the same concept of the school rule. Which is why that at birth, the government will pay for that child's every need. The child will go to school, the doctor, the dentist, and get food and drinks for free. Everything that is not a necessity, will be paid for by the family. The government will be in charge of making sure that each baby is properly taken care of and well

The Steady Decline of Teen Pregnancy Teen pregnancy, which is most commonly defined as adolescents from ages 15- 19, is not only a private trouble. Childbearing during the teen years not only have negative effects on the young parents but the children as well. Compared to ninety percent of women graduating high school by the age of twenty-two, only fifty percent of teen mothers receive their high school diploma by age twenty-two (NC Dept. of Health and Human Services 2015). These youth are more likely to rely heavily on public assistance and are more likely to be poor as adults, which may adversely affect their children’s education level and wage earnings (Guilford County Dept. of Public Health 2013).…

In the year of 2014, approximately 250,000 babies were born to mothers aged between 15-19 (CDC). The most important question posed now is, why are these teen pregnancy numbers so high? Is it because teenagers are uneducated in the risks of sexual activity? Is it because teenagers are too scared to confront their parents about going on birth control? The latter of the two seems to be more of a realistic reasoning.…

In the article, Centers for Disease and Control and Prevention, it states, “In 2013, a total of 273,105 babies were born to women aged between 15 through 19.” Many people believe that shows like “16 and Pregnant” promote teenage pregnancies, but I think the shows deters teenage girls from becoming pregnant. In “16 and Pregnant” many mothers struggle through stress, go through breakups, and go through being isolated. In this specific show, many mothers show that stress is built during being pregnant because most of them are still attending school; Consequently, they have to manage their time better and try to get ahead before they give birth.…

Many people think this a bad thing but I have to disagree, sixteen is the perfect age to start having kids. By this age your body still has the ability to bounce back from all the strains of childbirthing and most teens have a driver 's license or permit. This makes it a whole lot easier for them to get around with a child instead of having to take public transportation. Also it offers a lot of possibilities for young girls, for instance due to the increasing popularity of hit TV shows like “MTV’s”, “Teen Mom” girls are no longer ashamed of becoming pregnant. Instead they run straight for the cameras hoping to be the next big teen mom star.…

Because teens have had little “real life” experience, they are often unprepared to care for another human. Babies require constant time, attention, and supervision. Often teen parents do not have the means to provide for the child’s needs. “Babies born to teenagers are at risk for neglect and abuse because their young mothers are uncertain about their roles and may be frustrated by the constant demands of caretaking” (When Children). Neglect is common in situations where poverty, single parenthood, and substance abuse are found.…
