Not all the female and male adolescents have been using the most effective birth control contraceptives, which is not something that should be happening because there is still a chance of being pregnant and getting an infection or disease. The most effective type of birth control are intrauterine devices which is a device that is places in the uterus to prevent pregnancy. In an article by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention what is being explained is that few teenagers are using the most effective type of birth control, and even though the number of teen births declined there were still about 273,000 children being born to teen mothers ages 15-19 (CDC para1). The teenage years start in middle school, and that is where the talk on pregnancy prevention and formal sexual health education should start. Only 38% of schools in the middle school level were teaching pregnancy prevention and 26% taught the students about birth control contraceptives, then only 10% showed the students how to correctly put on a condom. In the article by Guttmatcher Institute the schools that were talking about this subject were only allowed to talk about 2.7 hours on these topics over the year, this is why the students were not getting all the information they needed on the topics, because the schools were not allowed to talk about it too much, all they were doing was introducing the subject and leaving the students confused as to what to do with that knowledge. Young female and male adolescents should have the privilege of learning about birth control contraceptives, condoms, and the consequences that can come if they don 't use
