“Soda’s is a problem but…” is an article written by Karen Klein about the soda ban. In the text, Klein mentions that you would be able to buy as many 16 oz cups as you want and even be able to still get refills. This is a problem because of the fact that the ban focuses on big sodas. However, this argument is weak because, you may be limiting one’s soda intake but, that doesn’t stop he or she from stuffing their mouths with pizza, ice cream, and other unhealthy foods without limitation. Even though this ban may be limiting some unhealthy food choices, it doesn’t apply to everything that is seen as unhealthy which consequently, can open new windows to other unhealthy foods. To conclude, this ban should not be put into place because it wasn’t voted on by the people whom it affects. In “Soda’s a Problem But…” it states, “Bloomberg essentially made this decision himself.” This is a major problem because it is one man’s opinion and the public didn't’ even get to give input and actually vote on the ban that impacts them. Overall, this ban should never be implemented in the current state that it has been developed in involving one man’s opinion and no feedback from the actual people it is impacting. To conclude, the soda ban should not be carried out with because of loopholes, inconsistent implementation, and most importantly because it wasn't event voted on, It is an unfinished idea from one mans opinion and is barely on the brink of being a somewhat valid
