It is expected that men are to show no emotion or be tough. For example, men are not to cry when they get hurt or when they are watching a movie with a sad moment. If a man does, they’re a wimp. Men are also expected to only like things that a man would like. This would include: guy toys, sports, explosions, action, girls, being strong, etc. If a man plays with girl toys, he’s considered gay, if a man don’t watch and participate in sports, he’s weak. If a man isn’t a fan of explosions and action movies, there is something wrong with him. If he’s not into girls, he will be called something more worse than gay. Why should it have to be this way? A person might be on Facebook and they might see a picture of a guy showing off his “guns” and then a person comments telling them that he looked disgusting, and then that guy comments telling him that is probably weak and should go die. On youtube, if a person ever read the comments section of a video, most of the time they might see someone being called “gay” or they might be bragging about how tough they are and how much more “women” they slept with than the other guy. Most likely those comments that they direct it to isn’t true, it just shows that men are pretty secure about their masculinity. Even though men are perceived a certain way, there are those few men who try to challenge the
