There are various crimes in the United States which are seen as more detrimental than others. Sex crimes are dealt with serious punishments even if the crime is not seen as “serious” like urinating in public. A sex crime can be defined as an illegal sexual act committed by an offender towards a victim. Sex crimes varies from sex trafficking, public indecency, pedophilia, bestiality, rape, and many other categories. If convicted of any type of sex crime the offender will be labeled as a sex offender and registered through databases. Sexual deviance may also lead to sex crimes because once the needs and fetishes do not satisfy an individual, the person often pertains to act on their needs. Sexual deviance is larger in definition because it can include an individual’s morals which involves cross dressing, fetishes, and other abnormal desires. Illegal sexual deviances include incest, rape, pedophilia, etc. A large amount of citizens in the United States have some sort of sexual deviance that can vary from watching a specific type of porn to having fetishes for boys or girls. Fetishes for boys or girls can lead to illegal actions that can cause harm to the boy or girl. Sexual deviance can be healthy for some people but once they are tired of using their “imagination” then it can become dangerous for the people around the offender. Offenders who eventually act on their desires commit sex crimes because they want to “fulfill” their needs and desires to satisfy themselves. In review, sexual deviance can be harmful to an extent but once an offender’s acts on their deviance on another person without their consent then a sex crime is committed.
Sex crimes occur throughout every part of the United States including college campuses. Sexual assaults and rape happen more commonly on college campus because of all the “young” people and the desires that they have. Females are the most at risk on college campuses for sexual assault and rape. Children are not safe from crimes regardless of how innocent and “protected” they are because there is a large quantity of unreported cases relating to child sex abuse. Child sex abuse is a developing problem because many kids do not inform their parents or an adult about the experience that they went through. Many times children retain information regarding who abused them because they most likely know the perpetrator or are scared to let an adult know because the perpetrator can physically hurt
