The Pros And Cons Of School Unifroms

I believe that having school unifroms can affect how one is on an individual level in school and later in life. The reasn being that I know what it is like wearing a uniform because I did it for 9 straight years at a charter school. It was uncomfortable, and we always had to wear belts and cacky colored pants. It was the worst clothing that any kid should have to wear when going through elementary to middle school. I disagree that unifroms should be kept in our school beacuase they do not allow comfort, style, and the chance to show people what you are like as a person. I grew up going to school at Imagine Charter Schools. The school was for families who wanted to have their children learn more than average and look "smarter" while doing so. The curriculum was not my issue, but the school uniforms that were such a burden to have to wear, and maintain were. I went to this school all nine …show more content…
We didn't get to make friends with people that possibly loved the same things as each other and we never got to show what our personality was like. We had only four colors to choose from for polo shirts, green, maroon red, navy blue, and white. It was the worst selection ever but at the end of my 7th grade year they finally introduced black polos. I wore black and blue polos all the wrest of my days at Imagine, and it helped me get across that I was differint in some way to everyone else.

One of the major reasons I disagree with our high school having uniforms right now is because it can shatter any sense of individuality. I already went through nine years of that torment of not having anyone be able to understand you, and I dont want to continue living that nightmare. I ask that the school would take a vote from all staff and students to determine whether or not we should keep them. Our school could become a much more colorful and diversified place if we get rid of our
