It is common to think among marketers that the more opportunity to choose there are in the market, the more possibility people have to find the product that they wanted. This could be real from one side but on the other hand researches show that when there is too much choice, consumer are more likely to not buy those products at all. Nowadays, costumers are overwhelmed by every kind of marketing campaign, they do not spend a minute surfing online, watching television or reading periodicals without occurring in banners, TV ads or any kind of marketing campaigns ready to propose them the last new products released by companies. Some firms publicize a good to generate a brand loyalty, to change the attitudes of the consumers or to respond to a marketing campaign undertook by a competitor company. “A man who stops advertising to save money is like a man who stops a clock to save time.” – Henry Ford -. With this quotation Ford wanted to declare the importance of commercial advertising considering useless any kind of cost cutters in that sector. There is a reason why Pepsi in 2011 spent approximately more than 500 million dollars to advertise its products, announced that there would have been a rise in expenditure for marketing campaigns in the 2012 of the 100% almost. It seems funny and at first impact but as soon as the man complain about his power, people start to realise that everything he touches actually die. Another example of marketing failure could be the TV spot released by Burger king named “Wake up with the king” in which a guy wakes up with the presence of the crappy mascot of the famous fast food. Nobody wants to wake up with a crappy king right in your bed and nobody wants burger for breakfast either.
