However, China is the closest country to rivaling the United States. China has many things going for them, like their extremely advanced infrastructure. Their infrastructure blows the western infrastructures out of the water: "China spends more on economic infrastructure annually than North America and Western Europe combined” (Coy). The amount of money China invests in their infrastructure is insane and makes them the most advanced country when it comes to infrastructure. Although their infrastructure is great, they still are a step down from the United States.
One area that China is suffering in is technology: “And China—the only country with the raw potential to become a true global peer of the United States—also faces a more daunting challenge than previous rising states because of how far it lags behind technologically” (Brooks, Wohlworth). India needs to attend to its population issue which is leading to major inflation and an extremely high unemployment rate. India also needs to not let China and Pakistan distract them from improving as a country. Russia on the other hand needs to improve the quality of their low level economy. Once they do that Russia will find themselves influencing countries other than their neighbors. Finally, China needs to deal with the poorness of their civilians. Over seventeen percent of their citizens are below the poverty line. China must also improve the current state of their technology. Overall, the United States is way more dominant that Russia, India, or China. Therefore they will maintain their role of being the most dominant country in the world for the foreseeable
