Colorado legislators began the work on Friday of deciding whether to give marijuana labels that indicate organic origins. The industry is watching to see what happens.
Organic standards are regulated federally by the US Department of Agriculture and marijuana is still illegal at the federal level. The organic label in Colorado would have to be state initiative.
