They were not able to just pick up a cell phone and text someone in the next room, much less someone who was on the opposite side of the country. Back then, they were forced to communicate through talking and making conversation person to person, not through a cell phone. They were not worried what other people were going to think of them. They were only worried about meeting new people. Communication has affected the way that generations connect and relate to each other simply for the fact of the change of communication and technology. It is harder to the elder generation to communicate with the younger population nowadays. Elder generations are not used to being able to pick up a cell phone and just be able to call and talk to their family or friends. Communicating with my grandparents is not easy. Most of the time when I need to talk to them or they need to talk to me, I have to go to their house and have a one on one talk with them. Elders are not willing to change what they know of something new and they should not have to. Everything needs to return back to the way it was when our grandparents were children. Communication is not as common as what it was years ago. As the years keep coming and we as people do not change the direction of the way communication is heading for, there will no longer be communication left in the world. Each year, one can clearly see that communication is not as common. People are too busy relying on their technology to do the talking and communicating for them. Communication will always have an effect in our lives, but it is up to us as a community and as a whole to decide if we want to let it keep getting worse or decide to stand up, make a change, and create a better future.
