Offshore drilling, this is something that helps and hinders many people, companies, and countries. The process of offshore drilling takes lots of energy, time, and money. It is a process where a rig or boat drills a hole through the ground till the rig hits oil or the desired product that’s being drilled. There is domestic and foreign drilling that produces oil for our companies, domestic drilling saves America millions of dollars. Foreign oil costs more than domestic oil not because of the quality but because of the import, export costs. Secondly, offshore drilling has some fallbacks, like oil spills. Oil spills are horrible for the environment, but with everything good there is some bad. On average 10 million barrels of Americas oil are being sold per year (Offshore Drilling). It is easy to see that from a business stand point the benefits of offshore drilling out weight the bad stuff by three hundred, twenty three billion dollars a year. That is a lot of extra money America can use. Even though many people have jobs and careers in the offshore oil business, some people don’t care and want to ban offshore drilling all together. What these people don’t understand is that thousands of Americans will lose their jobs, not only that it will cost American billions of export, import cost.
