The innovation of the Internet shaped a new era in the entertainment world. Now, we no longer need to rely on a cable TV connection. Online entertainment streaming adopted widely since it is more convenient than traditional entertainment systems. adopting such online streaming service involved five stages of the innovation-decision process. The first is the knowledge, in which I need information to find alternative options for entertainment. Before I purchased the Netflix’s subscription, I was purchasing DVDs and Blue-ray of movies, documentaries, and TV shows. As a result, it was more expensive, offered very limited collections, and inconvenient. Meanwhile, I was desiring a portability for an entertainment collection that I can use at anytime anywhere. I did researches regarding instant streaming, its features, and its benefits. The research involved asking friends, reading online reviews, and calling Netflix to find out more about it. The next step is a persuasion. At this stage, I found more about what features fulfill my needs. One of the major advantages of instant streaming media is that it can be accessed anywhere at any time with high-speed Internet connection. Netflix offers many advantages for users, for example, it is based on low cost monthly subscription, it provides vast collections of digital media, and it is available in many different devices. Since viewers have been increasing, Netflix also has been developing streaming applications across many distinctive platform systems. Now, Netflix is pre-installed into many smart TVs, Rokus, and Blue-ray players. According to Netflix.com, about 75 million streaming members are using online streaming service …show more content…
But, it turned out to be the best online streaming entertainment provider. In short, adopting instant streaming for entertainment was excellent experience because it was very cost effective, provided a vast amount of media collections, and it is not limited to just one language. In other words, Netflix not only provides the best collection of Hollywood movies, but also it provides movies in different languages and from diverse cultures. Applying strategies about diffusion of innovations through this assignment, it gave me a better understanding of how technology is being adopted from technology diffusion decision
