GMOs are a scarce to the environmental world because of the ability of cross-breading. Cross-breeding of polon is a natural process which can come in result of bees, and the wind. This cross-pollnation would essentially eradicate the natural/organic agriculture. This creates substitution, similar to the effects of an invasive specie. The pesticides being implemented inthese genticaly modified crops are al considered toxic to the beneficall organisms to the plants. This tocixcity surrounding chemical pesticides and herbicdies connoly used with GMOs may be toxic to bees, and butterflies, as well as other organisms. Spectulation of some researchers suggest that this toxicity due to pesticides and herbicides is a direct link to the disaperance of bees(6). Genetically modified organisms also create a monoculture, which is unity of one crop being harvested and planted in row pe formation. The constant planting and replating of plants along with tpesticides and herbicides used destroys the soil used for planting, resulting in the need to buy more land and continue the process all over again. Yet all these ipacts must be looked at in the bigger picture. GMO dna could potetnialy end up in soil, compost, animal feed and …show more content…
After the banning of Monsanto’s creation DDT in the United States, Monsanto thought out to create an alternative product. DDT was directly linked to cancer. This is also a worry for their current brands, Roundup and Round up Ready crops. Round up is a herbicide, while round up ready crops are specifally enginerrd crops made for round up. Monsanto has previously falsified information regarding their products. Little is known about their glyphosate herbcidie, round up, 0 years of intensifying exposure, scientists have been documenting the health consequences of Roundup and glyphosate in our food, in the water we drink, in the air webreathe and where our children play. (8) A study in March of 2015 done by seventee scientist in the International Agency for Research of Cancer suggest that the product Round Up or gylypphsate is a probable or possible croigen to humans. Specifcally researched by a French branch of the World Health Organization (9) The WCRC ( women cancer resource center )and CHOSE ( coalition for a heath Oakland school environment) showed that chemicals such as round up can result in repdoructive damage as well as damage to the kidney, liver and some studies suggest a link to cancer ( 10) Round up is one of the most toxic herbicides and is the third most connonly reported causes of pesticide related illness in agricultural workers (10) The Round up label itself
